Internet news can be consumed through a mobile device which is beneficial as consumers can access this anywhere and the news is current and instantaneous.
However, the news online can often be unreliable and can only be accessed with a service connection.

Television is beneficial as it offers visuals for audiences to better impact those watching.
However, the news channel might not be on all the time, and if it is, not everyone will have the access/ purchase a subscription to this channel.

Type of news:
Serious reportage- 'proper' news which deals with serious issues that have significant consequences (genres include crime, politics, education, and business). Dealt with in a serious tone by journalists
General interest- less significant news, often more popular with mass audiences (genre include, sports, art, and culture like pop culture). Often dealt with in a more relaxed, light-hearted tone.

News story vs Feature article:

A news story is more urgent and the information is time sensitive so the structure is often simple so the writer can get the information out and to the point. The news story will go in straight away.

A feature article is less urgent and therefore can be written any time after the event, the structure can be more creative and will have an introduction and build-up.
